Resetting a Quiz or Simulation (Virtual Business)

Modified on Tue, 26 Mar at 10:03 AM

Sometimes you may want to allow a student to redo a lesson that they have already completed.  Below are the instructions for the two methods of resetting a student's lesson.

Method #1:

This is the most efficient method if you are resetting multiple activities or need to reset an activity in multiple assignments.

1.  Log into you instructor account.

2.  From the "Your Courses" page, select the link for the course that you wish to configure.

3.  From the Course Detail page, click on View Student Progress.

4.  Locate the student whose lesson you would like to reset, and click on their name.

You will now be taken to the Student Operations page.

3.  Select the Reset an Assignment for <Student's Name> accordion option from the menu.

4.  Select the assignment that the quiz or simulation belongs to from the Assignment: pull-down menu.

5.  Select which a which activity you would like to reset, by placing a checkmark in the box next to the activity.

You can select multiple activities.

6.  Once you have completed your selections, click the Reset Assignment button.  You will be asked to confirm

that you wish to reset the assignment(s), click OK.  When the student logs in the next time, the lesson that you reset will be presented as the next lesson for them to complete.

Method #2:

This is the most efficient method to reset an individual simulation or quiz.

1.  From the Course Detail page, click on View Student Progress.

2.  Locate the student whose simulation and/or quiz you would like to reset.

3.  Hover your mouse over the grade for the activity and select Reset Sim or Reset Quiz from the pop-up

windows that appears.

4.  You will be asked to confirm that you wish to reset the assignment, click OK.

NOTE: If a student is on Lesson 8, and you want the student to redo Lesson 2, the student’s work on the lessons in between will be preserved.  Additionally,  if you are resetting an earlier assignment the student may not be able to move onto later assignments until the activity (simulation or quiz) that was reset is completed.  This is based on if you allow students to complete assignments in any order
or if they are required to complete assignments in order.
